The PTA is very active at Darby Woods. The PTA sponsors many events and activities for our staff and students throughout the year, for instance: hayride in the fall at Circle S Farms, Breakfast with Santa in the winter, the Scholastic Book Fairs, visits from authors and field trips for students.
PTA also gives money to each teacher in the building to use for supplies or whatever that teacher needs for his/her classroom. PTA also purchases special items for the school, for example, last year PTA purchased a video camera and two digital cameras to be used by all staff at Darby Woods.
You can help PTA provide for our students in many ways.
* Join the PTA - for only $3.50 you can become a member.
Attend our PTA meetings – they are open to everyone and
all members are eligible to vote. Meetings typically last an
hour long or less and free childcare is provided for children
ages 2 and up.
* You can easily participate in the Box Tops for Education &
Campbell’s Labels for Education programs that are here at
Darby Woods as well. Last year this program raised
$500 that was used towards field trips and events. Just cut
off qualifying labels and send them to school with your student. There is a collection box located in the library at school. Not
sure what counts? Check out the websites for more
information.
For any further information, please feel free to contact any one of our officers. You can reach any officer, by leaving a message at school (801-8075) or other contact information listed by their names.
